While perusing that Little Angels site, I was angered to come
across the case of Tracy Latimer. The site's brief dismissal of the
reasons for her death make their coverage of all the other murders
on that site suspect.

Tracy Latimer suffered from severe cerebral palsy, to the point
where she had great difficulty breathing. She was unable to do
such simple acts as go to the toilet, feed herself, speak, or
recognize her own name. She was in enormous pain constantly.

To dismiss these facts with a simple statement of "Tracy 12 years
old suffered from cerebral palsy, so her father decided to end her
suffering, by killing her with exhaust gas." does not even begin to
cover the complexities and sorrows of this case. Portraying a man
who, in the end, did what he felt best for his daughter as someone
who simply got tired of dealing with disability, is a disservice and
an insult.

From the New York Times, Nov. 22, 1994:

"Tracy Latimer, age 12, was in near constant pain since birth due
to severe cerebral palsy. She never learned to walk, talk, feed
herself, or even sit up. She suffered from daily seizures and frequent vomiting.

As her illness progressed her muscles were constantly dislocating
her limbs, twisting her spine like a pretzel. Her pelvis was
contorted and her hip had been dislodged for a year. Tracy's
parents, Robert and Laura Latimer were involved in constant 24-
hour care.

With the feeling that he was doing what was right, Mr. Latimer put
his daughter into the cab of a pickup truck on the family farm and
piped exhaust fumes into it.

He told the police that he was ready to stop the engine if she
started crying, but she fell quietly to sleep. "My priority was to put
her out of her pain," he said. The Latimers were known as
especially loving and attentive parents to their daughter during her
brief lifetime."

I request that either you make the coverage of this case on your
web site more fair and true to the facts, or remove it entirely.

By  saying she had cerebral palsy and was in pain and needed 24 hour support from
her parents makes it right , I don't think so.
In my opinion Mr. Latimer had no right to end the life of his child.

are true
